Kylie Lashes: The Lash Mapping Style that Combines A Spiky Kim K Lash Look with Fluttery Angel Lashes

Going by our social media feeds, natural lash looks are still very much at the top of most of your clients’ lists when it comes to choosing a lash look. If you have a handful of clients who can’t ever choose between those super light and natural lash looks and something bolder, Kylie Lashes are going to be your go-to lash look!

Let’s take a look at how you achieve a Kylie Lash Look, and which lashes would look the best in your sets!

What Are Kylie Lashes?

Kylie lashes bridge the gap between Angel Lashes and a Kim K lash style. It marries the light, wispy effect you get from a set of Angel Lashes, and the dense, fluffy look of Kim K Lashes while keeping the spikes. It’s an impressive look without being too heavy so is a great transitional lash mapping style for clients who are going from a light lash look to something more dramatic, and vice versa.

How Do You Map Kylie Lashes?

Start by adding your spikes—while you could use premade spikes if your client would like longer lashes overall, Kylie Lashes tend to be a lighter look, so you can use either flat lashes or closed fans to create your spikes. We’d recommend using 0.07 lashes in 3D to create your closed fans, but you can use finer lashes still if you’d like them to be even wispier and lighter.

Begin by placing spikes on the top and middle layers of the lashes. For an extra wispy effect, use a longer spike on the top layer than on the middle layer, and then fill the bottom layer with regular fans. It’s up to you here which lash thickness you use based on your client’s wishes, but for a fluffier look, we’d recommend 3D or 4D in 0.07 with slightly wider fans. If you’re pressed for time, try using our Premade Lash Fans here!

It’s important to note here that you can apply Kylie Lashes following any of the 4 main lash mapping styles, depending on the look your client needs—just because a look is trending, doesn’t mean that it should look the same on everyone!

Which Lashes Should You Use for Kylie Lashes?

As you want a softer, textured look, it’s best to opt for thinner and more lightweight spikes in a maximum of 3D. For a fluffier look still, when you create your spikes don’t wet the tips like you might for Wet Set Lashes—this leaves the tips open slightly and just adds to the fluffy effect.

As you know, Kylie Lashes are all about combining spikes with fluffy density on that bottom layer of lashes. You can, of course, create these fans using regular volume lash extensions, or Premade Lash Fans as we’ve covered, but for added fluff and wispiness with more density along the lash line, you could opt for Easy Fan Lashes!

And that’s a wrap! As with any lash mapping style, you can play around with the types of lashes you use and even the color of the lashes to create looks that range from light and natural to a little more attention grabbing! For a lighter look, try using Black Brown Lashes, or if your client wants their lashes to be a conversation starter, why not add a few spikes using colored eyelash extensions?
