Growing Your Lash Biz: How to Pack Your Schedule as Full as a Fluffy Volume Set!

How to Attract Clients as a New Lash Tech: Tips for Building Your Dream Client List

So, you’ve just finished your lash certification, your space is all set up, and you’re ready to get those lashes on real, paying clients. For the first few months, you’ve probably been working your magic on friends and family to perfect your techniques and nail your case studies. But now, it’s time to start filling your books with regular clients. The question is: how do you get more clients as a lash tech?

    1. Word of Mouth: Your Business’ Best Friend
Word of mouth is hands-down the backbone of any business. It’s the difference between having a couple of clients trickling in, or a steady stream filling your calendar! If you’ve been doing lashes for your friends and family while practising, chances are, you haven’t charged them (or maybe just a little). Now’s the time to let them do you a solid (aside from lying still for hours!). Ask them to rave about your skills to everyone they know—this could lead to a few extra bookings!

But let’s be real, word of mouth alone isn’t a guaranteed way to grow your business, so what else can you do?

    2. Social Media: The Client Magnet
We’ll dive deeper into social media in the next part of this series, but for now, let’s acknowledge its power. We live in a world where people find EVERYTHING on social media. If you’re not showcasing your work on Instagram, Facebook, or TikTok, you’re missing out! Keep your profiles fresh with gorgeous photos, lash videos, and a little personality to show off what you’ve got. Your posts might just get potential clients sliding into your DMs for an appointment!

    3. Get Those Glowing Reviews
Good reviews are like gold for any business, especially when it comes to lashes. It’s proof that you’re the lash tech to book with. There are a few ways to collect these:

Facebook: Super user-friendly, and clients can leave a recommendation. It’s not the old star rating system anymore, but they can still leave a review about why they love (or don’t love) your work.

Google Business: A must-have! Set it up so people can find you, know your hours, see what services you offer, and—most importantly—leave reviews. When people search for a lash tech, those Google reviews will help seal the deal.

Your Website: If you’re feeling ambitious, you can create a website where clients can check out your portfolio, book appointments, and leave reviews—all in one spot. This option requires a bit more work but can really pay off in the long run.

    4. Be Quick to Respond to Messages
This might sound like a no-brainer, but replying to messages promptly is the difference between booking a client and losing their interest. Set up an auto-response so they know you’ve seen their message and will get back to them soon. It’s also a good idea to carve out a few time slots each day just for catching up on messages. And, set some boundaries—only reply during business hours! Your downtime is important, too.

    5. Offer Introductory Deals
Who doesn’t love a good deal? An awesome way to get people through your door is to offer special introductory deals. We’ve already talked about setting prices in Part 3 of this series, so check that out if you need help with pricing.

Here are some intro offer ideas:

Discount on lash sets: Consider offering 25% off when they book a full set and an infill. Everyone loves a little something extra!

Referral deals: Reward both your current clients and the friends they refer. Maybe $10 off each person’s next set? It’s a win-win!

Free gifts: Offer a free aftercare kit for clients who book during your first month. It’s a little risky since it cuts into your profits, but if they fall in love with your aftercare products, they might come back for more.

Attracting clients might seem daunting at first, but it’s all about getting creative and staying consistent. With a bit of hustle and a lot of heart, you’ll have that booking calendar full in no time!
