Lash Salon Sanitation: Ensuring a Safe and Spotless Space for You and Your Clients

If you’re all about providing top-notch service, maintaining a clean and sanitary lash salon is crucial. Let’s dive into essential tips for keeping your tools and salon perfectly spotless!

    Sanitizing Your Lash Tools

Remove Lash Glue: If your eyelash tweezers have any eyelash extension glue on them, start with a dedicated lash glue remover for tweezers.

Cleanse: After each use, clean your tools with a sanitiser spray and dry them with a lint-free cloth. Clean your lash palettes with an alcohol-based cleaner to get rid of any lash adhesive from the backs of the lash strips.

Disinfect: Submerge your tools in a disinfectant solution like Barbicide for a thorough clean. Remember to place your lash tweezers in a shallow tray so they lie flat—this helps avoid damage—and don’t leave them in the solution for more than 20 minutes.

Drying: Ensure your tools are completely dry before storing them to prevent tarnishing. Use a clean, lint-free cloth. Be sure to avoid towels as they can harbor bacteria.

Sterilize (Optional but Recommended): For extra safety, use an autoclave to sterilize metal tools at the end of each day.

Storage: Store your clean, dry tools in a sanitary, closed container like a tweezer holder. Keep them off open surfaces to avoid contamination and damage.

    Looking After Your Lash Tools

Proper care extends the life of your tools and keeps them in perfect working condition. Here’s what we recommend:

Regular Maintenance: Inspect your tools for wear and tear. Ensure lash tweezers are aligned correctly and gripping well. If they’re damaged, it’s time for a replacement.

Proper Handling: Handle your tools carefully to avoid misalignment of the tips. Dropping them or using them improperly can reduce their effectiveness.

Storage: Store tools in a clean, dry place. Use tweezer cases, acrylic organizers, or lash palette organizers to keep them safe and easily accessible.

Avoid Cross-Contamination: Thoroughly clean and disinfect your tools between uses. Never use your tweezers from one client to the next without cleaning them.

    Sanitizing Your Lash Salon

A clean salon enhances client satisfaction. Here’s how to keep your space spotless:

    Daily Cleaning Routine:

Workstation: Wipe down all surfaces your clients contact, including workstations, counters, chairs, and your lash bed, with a disinfectant at the beginning and end of each day.

Floors: Sweep and mop the floors daily with a disinfectant solution. If you have carpeted floors, vacuum clean them at the end of the day, paying close attention to the area around your lash bed.

Bathroom: Ensure the bathroom is cleaned and sanitized daily.

    Between Clients

Workstation: Disinfect your workstation, including your lash bed and any surfaces your client may touch, before and after each appointment.

Tools and Equipment: Ensure all tools and equipment used are disinfected.

    Weekly Routine

Deep Cleaning: Dedicate a day each week to a thorough clean. Scrub floors and/or hard surface, wash windows and curtains, deep clean bathroom facilities, and tackle hard-to-reach areas.

Equipment: Deep clean equipment like beauty lamps, your lash trolley, and storage solutions.

Laundry: Wash linens, lash bed covers, towels, and blankets in hot water with a strong detergent.

Extra Tips for a Pristine Lash Salon

Use Disposable Items: Opt for disposables like mascara wands and applicator brushes where possible. Dispose of them after each use to reduce cross-contamination.

    Lash Tech Reusable Tools

Client Hygiene: Keep hand sanitisers available and encourage clients to use them upon arrival and before their appointment.

Deeper Cleanse: If you have carpeted floors, schedule quarterly carpet cleaning using an industrial cleaner. This will make a huge difference to the look and smell of your workspace!

Client Education: Inform clients about the steps you take to ensure their safety. This boosts their trust and satisfaction with your service.

Stay Updated: Keep up with the latest sanitation guidelines and industry innovations.

By following these tips, you’re not only maintaining a high standard of cleanliness to keep yourself and your clients safe, but also building trust with your clients to keep them coming back to you time and again!
