How to Stock up Without Overstocking This Black Friday

We know, we know - Black Friday sales prices are too good to pass up! With the holidays on the horizon you’re sure to see clients booking lash appointments in droves as well, so it makes perfect sense to get stocked up on all the lash extensions, lash glue and all your most loved pretreatment products too.

That being said, it is really easy to get carried away when placing your Black Friday lash orders, which could just end up seeing you with more products than you can use up while they’re at their best, meaning that your Black Friday purchases didn’t really save you any money at all!

So, how can you go about stocking up without overstocking on your lash supplies this Black Friday? Well…

Non Perishables

Anything that doesn’t have a use-by date is fair game - grab as much as you can store and then ask your friends very nicely if they have space for your lash supplies in their garage, if you want to!

Things like eyelash extensions, spare sets of lash tweezers, even eyepatches can all be stocked up on without any real limits, we just hope that you’ll consider your fellow lash tech and leave some trays for them!

Yes, we know, eyepatches do expire, but they are single use and have a 2-3 year shelf life on them, so you’re good to grab at least a few boxes!

Perishables

All of your liquid products will have a use by date, and while using them after that date won’t be dangerous, it will mean that you’re not getting the absolute best out of your lash products. This might mean that they’re harder to work with - especially in the case of glue - or they might just give your clients poor retention.

Here’s a list of everything you might be considering purchasing and their relative use by dates to give you an idea of how many of each you can safely purchase.

These have a pretty long shelf life and are available as individual units to be used as pretreatment, or in packs of 9 for you to retail to your clients to use as their aftercare.

Pretreatment for eyelash extensions

We all need pretreatment - it’s fundamental to ensuring great retention, but how long can you use your Cleanser and Primer before they stop doing what they’re supposed to?

Last but not Least: Glue for Lash Extensions

Glue is the big one - it’s always heavily discounted for Black Friday (and yes, it’s FRESH) so we often see lash techs buying 10 bottles at a time. In those cases we usually reach out to them and make sure they’re able to use all of those bottles within a 6 month time-frame, because it’s inevitable that come May of the following year, we get messages from lash techs saying that the glue they bought during the Black Friday sales doesn't work. This is because it simply doesn’t last longer than its shelf life.

You’ll know better than anyone how much eyelash extension glue you can safely get through in 6 months - and honestly, we’d recommend buying only as much as you can use within 4 months, just to be on the safe side.

Shelf life unopened: 6 months

Shelf life from opening: 2 months

With any product you buy, you’ll see the DOP on the packaging - this is the date of production - so you’ll know when you have until to use them. Rest assured that, especially for those products with a shorter date, we order more especially for Black Friday sales, to ensure you have as much time as possible to get the best out of them!
